That stands for Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. I entered Defenders of Valinthia in it for a chance at the grand prize of $50,000 royalty advance, with the addition of a lucrative book publishing contract. There are four first place prizes at $15,000 plus a book publishing contract, so while I’m shooting for the grand prize, I’ll be OK with winning first place. Alas, such as my luck, I’ll probably end up not winning a thing. Which is fine, because at least I can say I gave it a shot. I won’t know if I move on to the next phase until February 11, 2013 when the first round is ended. If I make it to the second phase, I’ll consider myself lucky. ^_^
Still plugging away at Darya Rising, just started the third chapter. When I hit chapter ten or so, I’ll be making another announcement. Or when next week gets here, whichever comes first. 
I think I will enter a novel I’m working on. I finished the second draft and went through it. No beta readers yet, which is sad, but … well, this opportunity only comes around once a year, so I might as well try my luck!!!
